Ensure clear pathways of care within the Children's Cancer Network that will improve time to diagnosis. Embed regional psychological support services within the East of England cancer network to ensure holistic needs are met. Make the uptake of trials and tumour banking more accessible for the CTYA population. Develop regional education and staff training programmes focused on Teenagers and Young Adults Cancer (TYA cancer). Drive forward the work of genomic medicine to benefit young patients. Increase accessibility to fertility preservation options and treatment for those in the TYA cancer demographic. Enhance the transition arrangements between children's, teenagers, young adults, and adult services to improve overall care.
The Children’s Cancer Network and the Teenagers and Young Adults Cancer Network (CTYAc), operate across the East of England. The Principal Treatment Centre (PTC) for both children and TYA is located at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. Across the region there are 8 Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Units (POSCUs) for under 16's as well as 3 TYA designated hospitals dedicated to supporting TYA cancer patients between 16-24 years.
